Compare the features that change your choice.
Start with the match you want to play. Arena of Champions has a shared town, bot practice and 1v1, 2v2 and 3v3 brackets in the checked snapshot. WebWoW advertises duels and 2v2 with a guest class-selection flow. Both list nine classes, but their specialization choices and ability implementations differ. The table separates verified entry features from questions that depend on the current client or live matchmaking.

This is a feature comparison, not a benchmark of frame rate, latency or win rate. We inspected both guest entry points; WebWoW’s later world-entry step returned an error during that visit. That does not establish ongoing availability for either project. Use each developer’s current status and client messages when planning a session with friends.
Pick the format before comparing class balance.
Choose Arena of Champions when 3v3 is part of the plan or you want to learn a toolkit through a named practice NPC before entering player matches. Its shared town offers a place to inspect heroes and prepare. A bot practice exercise can be useful when you want to repeat one response without asking another person to recreate it. That makes it an approachable testing environment, even though practice success does not predict a ladder result.
Choose WebWoW when duels and 2v2 are the formats you want and its controls feel comfortable. The official page makes those two activities explicit. Guest character selection lets you inspect the roster before deciding whether to save an account. If you only want a few duels, the existence of an extra bracket in another game may not matter. Compare the activity you will actually use rather than counting features you will never open.
In both games, read the selected queue. Practice, casual, rated and duel options are not interchangeable labels. A guide saying a game has 2v2 does not establish that every account state can enter every queue at all times. Verify the current prompt with your partner, and make sure both of you are discussing the same game and format before changing settings to solve a supposed matchmaking problem.
Nine familiar classes do not mean identical toolkits.
Both games use Warrior, Paladin, Hunter, Rogue, Priest, Shaman, Mage, Warlock and Druid as class choices. Arena of Champions’ checked v0.21 roster totals nineteen specializations, including Balance Druid. WebWoW’s current class screen shows its own specialization selection; the inspected Hunter offered Marksmanship, Survival and Beast Mastery. Copying the AoC spec count across would hide a real difference between the clients.
Compare what your chosen role needs to do. A melee player needs reliable contact and a retreat plan. A ranged player needs sight lines and room to act. A healer must preserve access to a partner while answering pressure. Read the actual utility, defensive and targeting options in each client. A class that shares a name with your favorite WoW character may still have a different resource model or a smaller action bar.
Avoid calling one roster stronger based on a clip or a single match. The opponent, bracket, version and player experience all matter. For Arena of Champions, the class directory and team builder help make role choices explicit. Those tools are labelled for AoC and do not simulate WebWoW’s balance. Try the same learning goal in each game before deciding which toolkit you prefer.
Understand what guest access does and does not promise.
Both official entry pages offer a guest button, so you can start inspecting a game without supplying an email. Arena of Champions currently says “No account needed. Save your progress any time.” WebWoW’s landing page also explicitly says no email is needed for class selection. A guest entry route is a useful trial, but should not be interpreted as a promise that an identity survives every browser reset or device change.
For a lasting name and progress, read the game’s current save-account flow. Published WebWoW guidance describes guest matches as unrated and saving an account as the path to climbing. Older Arena of Champions guides disagree about guest rating access, so we defer to the queue and account prompts in the current client rather than stating a universal registration gate. The developer can change those rules independently of this guide.
The two account systems are separate. Registering in one does not save progress in the other, and neither requires your Battle.net password. This directory does not host game authentication or migrate a ladder identity. If persistent progress is your main concern, verify the return-and-sign-in process before investing a long session. Check what happens on your own device without assuming an unsaved guest is permanently recoverable.
Can you play either game on a phone?
WebWoW has touch controls in its published guidance, which makes it the first one to investigate for a phone experiment. That is a narrower statement than saying every Android or iPhone can run it comfortably. Graphics support, memory, heat, screen size and the ability to press several controls together all matter. A resized desktop window is not a real-device benchmark, and this comparison makes no mobile frame-rate claim.
For Arena of Champions, begin with a desktop browser, keyboard and mouse. A phone that displays the page has not necessarily solved movement, camera and targeting input. The optional Windows client is a desktop option, not an Android APK. Read our mobile compatibility guide for a practical input test and use only official links if the developer later announces another platform.
Keyboard users should also check defaults when switching. Published WebWoW controls put attack on G, while AoC’s v0.19+ second utility uses G. The controls table shows the distinction. Make sure a critical action is reachable while moving, test the game’s keyboard focus and inspect any saved bindings before a rated queue. Familiar movement keys do not mean every shortcut is shared.
Which one should you try first?
Start with Arena of Champions if bot practice, specialization planning or a 3v3 bracket solves a specific need. Start with WebWoW if you want its duel-and-2v2 focus and like the character flow. If neither device can enter the world reliably, solve that loading or compatibility issue before judging the combat. Browser requirements and official client options can help distinguish a graphics problem from a connection failure.
Neither game receives a “faster queues” badge here. Waits change with player availability, bracket and matchmaking conditions. A town population number is not the number of opponents eligible for your exact queue, and one successful entry does not establish server stability over a week. Test during the time you intend to play with your partner and use the same definition of waiting for both games.
Give each client a short, deliberate trial: choose one role, learn movement and targeting, test a defensive and review one fight. The better choice is the one that fits your format, device and partner while giving you a toolkit you want to learn. For a solo alternative without an arena queue, Azeroth Survivors belongs to the wave-survival genre and should be judged as that separate activity.
Frequently asked questions.
Which game has 3v3 arena?
Arena of Champions lists a 3v3 bracket in the checked snapshot. WebWoW’s official landing page advertises duels and 2v2.
Which game has faster queues?
There is no verified universal answer. Waits depend on active players, bracket and current matchmaking conditions. This site does not have a live queue feed or a controlled queue-speed benchmark.
Do both games have nine classes?
Yes, both checked rosters list nine classes. Their specialization choices and abilities differ, so class count does not make their combat systems identical.
